My name is Carly Noëlle (you can call me either) (she /they) and I was born in Boulder, CO and have lived in the area my whole life. I’ve been an artist since before I can remember, always inviting kids in my kindergarten classes to draw mermaids and fairies with me. Growing up I was always doodling on class worksheets or working in my sketchbook. With both of my parents encouraging me to pursue art, I received a Bachelors in both Fine Arts and Psychology with a minor in Gender Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before college I knew I wanted to tattoo, but not yet being acquainted with the world of tattooing I decided to dedicate myself to finding artistic style in school.

Since then I have managed a hair salon in Boulder while working towards finding an tattoo apprenticeship. I searched high and low (for four years) before finding my home at Metamorphosis Tattoo Studio with my extremely gracious mentor Serina / Twiggy and have only seen my artistic talent grow and transform through her encouragement. Before fully apprenticing at the studio I was eager to spend as much time at the shop as I could and ended up spending time here three days a week for about a year before Serina could take me on full time.

Imagery and themes I really connect with and take inspiration from would be folklore, mythos of any kind, art nouveau, and the like. Growing up I was constantly drawing the human figure, more specifically the female figure and find that is still a massive inspiration for my art.
